🌙 Under the cover of darkness. 🎯 Terrorists disguised as police personnel. ⚔️ A determined defence that foiled a major terrorist attack.
In the early hours of 11 August 2022, heavily armed terrorists attempted to storm an Army post at Parghal in Rajouri. Alert soldiers of 11 Rajputana Rifles detected the suspicious movement and immediately challenged the intruders. What followed was a fierce firefight that lasted for several hours.
⚔️ Leading from the front, Subedar Rajendra Prasad Bhambhu and his comrades fought with exceptional courage and determination, successfully eliminating both terrorists and preventing a major tragedy. In the gallant action, Subedar Rajendra Prasad Bhambhu, Rifleman Manoj Kumar, Rifleman Nishant Malik, and Rifleman Lakshmanan D sustained grievous injuries and made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
